Code of Conduct
The Committee is committed to the ethical conduct in all areas of its responsibilities and authority, and to act in the best interests of the New Zealand Farm Environment Trust (Trust) and the Ballance Farm Environment Awards (BFEA). Committee members shall:

Understand and maintain the vision and values of the Trust and the BFEA.
Publicly represent BFEA in a positive manner.
Engage in a respectful manner with Trust employees, contractors, volunteers and fellow committee members.
Recognise that only the chairperson, or their designated delegate, can speak on behalf of the Committee.
Declare any conflicts of interest with respect to their fiduciary responsibility.
Make every effort to attend a majority of Committee meetings within an awards programme year.
Ensure that individual members do not act independently of any Committee decisions.
Speak with one voice and ensure that any disagreements are resolved within the Committee, or if this is not possible, elevate any such issues to the Trust’s General Manager.
Observe the confidentiality of non-public information acquired as a Committee member and not disclose to any other persons such information that might be harmful to the Trust and BFEA.
Recognise that BFEA-related contractors work for the Trust and if any requests are made of these contractors, that such requests shall not unduly add to their workload or conflict with Trust processes or policies.
Make every effort to support the Trust’s work to bring and maintain a high level of national consistency across the BFEA entrant and judging experience.

I have read the BFEA Committee Charter and understood the role of the Committee and its objectives, including the role and responsibilities of being a Committee member.

I am committed to supporting all BFEA regional activities.
